Obasanjo is in the state to attend a Town Hall Meeting where Soludo will present his one-year anniversary scorecard today (Saturday). Labour Party Governorship Aspirant Found Dead Chief Humphrey Anumudu an aspirant for the ticket of the Labour Party in the upcoming Governorship election in Imo State has been found de^ad in his house.  Chief Anumodu, a native of Mbieri Ancient Kingdom of Imo state was reportedly found de^ad in his house in what family sources described as “spiritual attack.” Journalist gathered that the late politician had paid the sum of 25 million Naira for Labour Party’s Governorship form for the November 11th 2023 Guber contest. Chief Anumudu, a respected legal luminary and an astute politician was also the Chief Executive Officer of Globe Motors. He had contested for the Governorship election in the past under the All Progressives Grand Alliance.

CBN gives new guidelines, order banks to open Saturdays, Sundays

Sequel to the meeting with CEOs, the CBN has directed the following with immediate effect: 1) All branches are to open from 9am to 4pm (Sat / Sun). All ATMs must be fully loaded with cash and functional. 2) CMU /Zones should go and pick up cash allocation in all their CBN branches 3) Mints in old notes and Fit old notes will be disbursed across locations 4) Deposit is without limit and there are no charges  5) No deposit code is required again for deposit in branches. Suspended for now.  the daily report of collections across the locations should be consolidated and shared as usual.

PHOTOS: Mother-of-two killed at Asake’s London concert buried

Mother-of-two, Rebecca Ikumelo, who was killed at the 02 Academy Brixton during a concert by Nigerian singer, Asake, has been laid to rest. The 33-year-old died from her injuries after a large number of people tried to enter the concert on December 15, 2022. During the burial that was held on Friday, the deceased’s family lamented that her body was held by the coroner for over three months before it was released. A police investigation into the incident is due to conclude next month. Credit: BBC

The prayers of the Labour Party presidential candidate  Among his five prayers, Mr Obi urged the Presidential Election Petition Court to “determine that at the time of the presidential election held on 25 February, 2023,” Messrs Tinubu and Shettima “were not qualified to contest the election. ” He prayed the tribunal “to determine that all the votes recorded for” Mr Tinubu “in the election are wasted votes, owing to the non-qualification” of the president-elect and Mr Shettima. That it be determined that the 2nd Respondent (Mr Tinubu) having failed to score one-quarter of the votes cast at the Presidential Election in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, was not entitled to be declared and returned as the winner of the presidential election held on 25 February, 2023.” Mr Obi prayed the tribunal to make “an order cancelling the election and compelling the 1st respondent (INEC) to conduct a fresh election at which the 2nd Respondent (Tinubu), 3rd respondent (Shettima) and 4th respondent

From class teacher to a member state Assembly.            Hon. Lawal Musa, 25 years old (PDP), defeated the current speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, ending the 20-year reign of Hon. Mirwa. This young honorable was born in 1998. He was 5-year, when Rt. Hon. Mirwa was first elected as Member representing Nguru Outside Constituency, Yobe State. The Honorable Speaker arrested Lawal for his Facebook post, and when the boy regained his freedom, he decided to engage the Honorable at the polls. People were laughing at him and discouraging him, but he kept pushing. Congratulations, I wish you Allah's guidance in discharging your responsibility. Be a good ambassador of the young people.
